At 7:00 AM your private Egyptologist will pick you up from your Cairo or Giza hotel to start the day off by visiting Saqqara, home of the oldest stone-type construction in Egypt, The Step Pyramid of King Zoser. The step pyramid still remains til this day, and dates back to 2700 BC, where the idea of building pyramids originated.

Pyramid with a story

We will get the chance to visit one of the most famous pyramid of all times; the pyramids of King Unas. One of the only 4 pyramids in Egypt that has carvings in the wall and color, out of 120 total pyramids.

12:00 pm

The oldest architectural mistake

Then we will drive to Dahshour to see advanced techniques that were used in ancient Egypt in building pyramids. There we will see the bent pyramid, the oldest architectural mistake on earth that still remains till this day. Then, move to the red pyramid of king Senefru, the builder of the 1st complete pyramid in Egypt dating back to the 26th century BC.

2:00 pm

Memphis

Later on we will visit Memphis, the oldest capital in ancient Egypt, and visit the ruins of Memphis home of our famous open air museum and the giant statue of Ramses the 2nd. We will also visit the second biggest sphinx in Egypt of the famous queen Hatshepsut which is made out of alabaster. Then, move on to a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Egyptian meal.

3:00 pm

Farewell

Drop off at your hotel and say our farewells.

More about Giza

There are three main Pyramids here, which were built in the 4th Dynasty (circa 4650 B.C). The Pyramids of Ancient Egypt were built as tombs for Kings (and Queens), and it was the exclusive privilege to have a Pyramid tomb. However, this tradition only applied in the Old and Middle Kingdoms. Today there are more than 115 Pyramids in Egypt; the most famous ones are those at Giza.

More about Sakkara Discover Sakkara

Sakkara is one of the most extensive archaeological sites in Egypt, it was the cemetery for Memphis the capital of ancient Egypt. Yet again it is one of the very virgin archaeological sites. despite the fact that we found so many monuments in Sakkara .
