EXPERIENCE ALEXANDRIA FIRST HAND Simply Astonishing

This city is simply legendary. Home of the biggest library of the world with more than 8 million books. Although some parts of the ancient city were washed under the sea while other parts were gone under the modern city, yet there are still some remains of the glorious ancient city.

More about Alexandria

Alexandria, the city created by Alexander the Great in 333 BC and with a history very different from any of the other cities in Egypt. When this famous Macedonian (the Greek state, not the former Yugoslav country) was en route to visit the Oracle Temple of Amun at the Siwa oasis he stopped overnight at the village of “Re-qdt” (its Greek name is “Racotis”) between the Mediterranean Sea and the Lake of Mariott (its location today is the area of Tel Bab Sadrah or Karmouz). Alexander decided that this was to be the spot where a great city would be built and charged one of his architects, Dinocratis, to build it.

We were recommended by a friend and they way passed any expectations that we had. They find out what we wanted and made it personal and charming. From local tours to touristic features. Roshdy charmed us from second one and managed to find us a trip to Alexandria, private cars and the most local underground spots.

Our tour guide Sameh is absolotely wonderful, funny and professional as the rest of the staff and people that attend us in every place we've been to. We've seen so much in 10 days... And we made new funny and kind friends. I would recommend the tour and the visit to this beautiful country. We felt confortable and safe all the time.
